to the commemoration of the Lake St. Lawrence cemeteries!
Between 1954 and 1958, the St. Lawrence River was dredged and flooded
to enable ocean-going vessels to travel from Quebec to the Great Lakes.
2008 marks the 50th anniversary of the flooding of the Seaway
and creation of Lake St. Lawrence. Here you will find the known
burial information about Native Americans associated with Fort La Presentation,
veterans of the Battle of Crysler's Farm, and approximately 4000 Canadians
some of whom dated back to the time of the American Revolution.
This site is intended to honor them for their sacrifices. May they rest in peace.
